As usual, apart from the suspence that keeps you glued to the story, the writer portrays characters that you get to know little by little, so that, as it happens in real life, you get to love them or hate them according to what they do and to their background stories, and in the end you are completely involved in their adventures.

Clark has caused me to lose a lot of sleep. Hate to put it down at night
I completely enjoyed this unusual, interesting mystery. I highly recommend it to all readers. The characters are well developed and believable.
***NO SPOILERS***

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I must say it was a very enjoyable read. I constantly found myself saying, "One more chapter... one more chapter..." because some chapters are only one page long! At this point, you're probably wondering why I get it 4 stars? Well, I didn't find the ending to be awesome, which is what I think it needed to be 5 stars. The author sort of built the story up, and up, and up.... and then BAM! Here's the bad guy! Love Mary Higgins Clark's writings. Would recommend this book to anyone. Didn't even guess who was the killer was until the last few pages.
This is my first Mary Higgins Clark book. I really enjoyed it. That doctor was very creepy. I really liked Kerry and that defense attorney. I had started to suspect who the killer was at the end before it was revealed. I do wish that poor man didn't have to spend all that time in prison. I think all the characters were really well developed.
I love the books by Mary Higgins Clark, they are well written and well thought out. Once you start reading it is so hard to put down. The twists and turns are very captivating and intriguing to say the least, you can't wait for the next twist or turn. This is an excellent book for all mystery lovers.
As always Mary HIggins Clark has a winner. Her books never are boring, hold my interest and I love that she does not use foul language, descriptive sexual encounters but keeps it clean and suspenseful. I look forward to many more years of this ladies writing talents
