The Tree A Selection of Poetry Teresa Hardister Candice Fleming 9781477690239 Books

The Tree is a journey. A travel through life written in poetic form. The highs, lows, and attempts to emerge from the valleys that overshadow our voyage. The contents before this publication had been stored away, bottled up and safe. Before the passing of my Mother, I never would allow anyone a glimpse of this side of me. She urged me to send my prose out into the world and let someone grow and form their own root system from what she called "Her Tree", me. I at long last gained the courage to release my poetry in hopes that I will show you my roots, give you shade and a limb to cling to when the wind and elements rage.

My husband surprised me with this book due to a friend had recommended it and since I am the 'reader' between the two of us he figured I might like it. I have not read a poetry book in a long time due to the last few I just couldn't get into. That was the complete opposite for this book. I read it through non stop the 1st time and just couldn't put it down!(ignoring my husband who is a truck driver and I ride along; as we drove down the road...I think maybe making him regret getting it for me! LOL ) Each piece was engaging and was unique in it's own way. But at the same time it told a story. It showed the different things and stages in the authors life. It showed the relationship she has with her mother but also the people whom she loves and make up her life. From poems her mother wrote before she passed to a poem she wrote with her son along with different poems from her life this collection is just amazing. It is well rounded covering a vase array of subjects. I have read it two more times each time going a little slower and taking it all in. It has only gotten better with each read. Just as the 1st read I smiled, laughed, and cried with the pieces as I went along on the journey. Thank you so very much for pulling your box out of the closet and sharing with us. It is truly a great piece of work and I am sure your mother is smiling right now so very happy you finally did share with the world.Product details

The Tree A Selection of Poetry Teresa Hardister Candice Fleming 9781477690239 Books Reviews
I have never been a fan of Poetry but this author has a way of expressing what she is saying that touches the heart. I have laughed, cried. Her mom remains her muse and with that ability I can't wait to see what comes next. I do not have a but I was able to read this from a friend that has one. Looks like I need to get one. I loved it!
I took a journey, and walked down multiple paths within this book. I recommend this author based on the truth in her words. We need more of that these days.
I enjoyed reading The Tree so much. Teresa Hardister puts so much emotion into everything she pens. Reading her poems has awakened my own writing, which I haven't done in years. Truly a treasure to read.
A great book of Poetry. Will read other books by this author. Had me in tears by the second page.
The Tree by Teresa Hardister proved to be a poignant and refreshing surprise, a soulful yarn of poetry through which the author narrates the many exclamation points of life... often seemingly solitary experiences of what is actually a journey shared (my observation, not hers).
I found myself wanting for more, and hope that the author is moved to again tap into that place from whence these musings flow.
If you enjoy literature that literally grabs your heart then read The Tree. Teresa has a way of writing that is so heart grabbing that you feel a part of the story. The additions of her beloved Mother's poetry was such a beautiful way to see her Mom as her Mom saw the World. I first read her book Uniquely Nobody and read it in less than a week. Thank you Teresa for sharing your gift of writing with us. xoxo, Aimee
The Tree (A Selection of Poetry), is truly a work of poetry. It gives you insight into who the author is. It gives you inspiration by building a foundation of where her passion comes from. The book starts and ends with her inspiration (her mother). The collection ranges from emotions of loss, love, trauma, heart ache, mistrust, and finding one's self. I really enjoyed the flow of the book and the collection set. It is a must read for all. All emotions were covered. I look forward to reading more from her and similar authors.
